Queer Act in China

回首过去的数年，LGBT+群体在中国权利的实现历经风雨，尚未见彩虹。不过我们试图以另外一种的眼光来看待这样的进程。正如农作有耕种和收获的季节。希望在过去数年间的奋力耕作，能够在不久的未来，为中国LGBT+群体带来真正的收获。这是一个了解中国LGBT+群体近年来“行动” 的地图或者索引，不过由于我学习法律，如果较多集中在法律和案例方面，请原谅。

In the last few years, LGBT+ people in China witnessed highs and lows, or we have developed a new perspective on how to views. There are times when you sow, plough and harvest. Hope the seeds they sowed and ploughed in the past few years, will give them a plentiful harvest in the future. Here is a map or list of queer’s act in China. I study law, so please excuse me this map might mostly focus on law and regulations.

On 21 September, CCTV-NEWS reported on gender discrimination in workplaces (watch the video)
- KEY POINTS
- Gender discrimination is prevalent in recruiment.
- The second-child policy might aggravate the issue. Companies, currently bearing the cost of maternity leave, are reluntant to hire female candidate who doesn’t have baby or only have one child.
- Facilities like infant rooms are rarely available in most companies, which makes new mothers hard when they go back to work.
- Social attitude that women should take the responsibility in the family and prejudice that girls are inherently worse than boys in some fields, such as science and technology, are also related to discrimination.
On 19 September, White paper on “Equality, Development and Sharing: Progress of Women’s Cause in 70 Years Since New China’s Founding” was issued.(Full text:EN/CN)
